Name: ACTLIFE: Physical activity the tool to improve the quality of life in osteoporosis people

Intro: ACTLIFE is focused on the development and dissemination across Europe of ACTLIFE protocol aimed to the secondary and tertiary prevention of osteoporosis consequences through physical activities. In particular the project aims to deal with bone mineral density and fear of falling in people with osteoporosis.

Aims:

  1. Identification, assessment and sharing of an exercise program for people with established osteoporosis
  2. Raise awareness involving the Health decision makers and promote sport and physical activity implementing the ACTLIFE protocol inside the local and national Healthcare Programs
  3. Facilitate the participation of people with osteoporosis in physical activity programs
  4. Involve policy makers to develop awareness campaigns for healthy lifestyle, promoting specific courses based on ACTLIFE protocol
  5. Advocacy and dissemination
 
  • Analysis of European experiences and literature review of physical exercises about osteoporosis in order to acquire the knowledge and experiences regarding the state of osteoporosis
  • ACTLIFE protocol development: to devise the most promising exercise intervention to address fracture risk reduction through bone strengthening, fall and impact reduction strategies
  • ACTLIFE pilot study for evaluating and testing the optimized protocol
