At the end of 2009 Know and Can Association won a project called “Choosing a profession – choosing a desired way of living”. The project is in the framework of the program Youth activities (2008 – 2010), National initiatives and campaigns of National Center “European Youth Programs and Initiatives” (contract 11-01-27/17.12.2009).
The objectives of the project are associated with the optimization of the effectiveness in the process of choosing appropriate education and profession with the methods of professional orientation as the target group is young people in schools. The tests for professional orientation are an express way to analyze the interests, skills, expectations and the ideas of youths concerning their choice of appropriate education and profession. The end result of the five tests gives basic directions concerning the professional realization of the student – the spheres, in which he could be successful and satisfied according to his interests, personal needs and abilities. The participants in the project were students from 3 age groups – 9th, 10th and 11th grade from Private Professional School “Balkanika”, 23 School “Frederique Joliot Curie” and 119 School “Mihail Arnaudov”. They had the chance to meet university students in: Law, Journalism, International relations, Tourism, European sciences, Architecture and Design from Sofia University, University of National and World Economy and New Bulgarian University. Damyana Stoychevska - lawyer, Anna Mihailova - actress, Radisson BLU Grand Hotel, Sofia and First Invertment Bank also took part in the initiative.
