The VALITS project is developing the VALITS Validation Tool for informal skills of seasonal workers in the tourism sector.
Although the tool is still in its development phase, it will be offering a real and objective test and validation of ten soft skills acquired in an informal way which workers have gathered whilst working in the tourism sector and are often not aware of. These skills include teamworking skills, leadership skills, non-verbal communication, decision making, etc. They will be tested in a variety of testing methods (e.g. quizzes, role play) which are interesting and entertaining for the user.
The tool is also connected to a Career Guidance App, which suggests to the candidates possible career paths and thereby gives them new options for future development and career planning.
These two practical tools distinguish themselves from some other approaches by being practical tools that produce viable results for the users, rather than just offering a methodological approach.
